Jeroen (the Boogieman) Gnirrep
I got to know Diederick when he drove up in his Big Red Cadillac. We started to talk and it turned out he needed a bassplayer. So we agreed a try out. And I stayed. It was the first time for me to have a gig after one rehearsal!
I started on bass at the age of 14, fretless and with frets. Before I had violin lessons for seven years. I played several youth concerts, and played Brechts 3 nickel Opera and work by Weill as well.
I taught myself to play by playing with the record "Smoke on the water". I played in several Punk bands, such as "Outlawz", known from the Chocomel commercial.
Continued in different styles: rockabilly, acoustical, blues and soul with the "Ghostriders" (Elvis) and "Uranus" (rock). I met a drummer I had a "click" with and joined the Casanova bluesband. I liked it to play with Big Red 'n Blue, because apart from the blues, we played different styles of music.
